A Message from Kevin McNamara,
Founder and Chairman of the MBA
I formed the Masters Basketball Association (MBA) in 2009 as a response to an overwhelming demand from long time Team Organizers to continue to have a Masters Basketball Tournament in South Florida.
I am very happy to report that the 2009 National Senior Championships was a resounding success. Faced with one of the most difficult economic climates in many years, the 2009 tournament was still able to attract 36 teams, just 6 short of our capacity.
We believe that in large measure, this response was the result of Team Organizers having confidence in the proven ability of our staff to run a tournament at a very high level of quality.
The Board and Staff are now preparing for the 2010 Tournament and once again,
our mission is to deliver a “world class” tournament. We believe your time and investment in the tournament demand nothing less.
I am very pleased to tell you that Dave Hulett will continue to serve as our Chief Operating Officer and Tournament Director. He will be ably assisted by Coach Marilyn Rule, Supervisor of Officials, Pete Battaglia, and Gym Operations Director, Jerry Hauck.
We strongly believe the MBA National Senior Championships will continue to be, as former NBA star and Keynote Speaker at this year’s Welcome Barbecue, Jim Barnett has expressed, “the best week of the year”.
I look forward to seeing you in the Coral Springs gym in May.
Regards,
Kevin J. McNamara
Chairman - MBA
